Position Description:
Responsible for the negotiation and purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by corresponding business unit(s). Designs and executes strategies and plans to meet business unit(s) short-term and long-term supply chain management and production control requirements. o Negotiating terms and prices with suppliers while monitoring and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices. o Plans and implements purchasing policies and ensures compliance. o Researches and develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate. o Examines bids and makes awards. o Analyzing the supply chain data and solving any issues or putting alternative plans in place. o Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time period. o Identifying and minimizing risk by predicting the demand for products and adopting new technology with no interruption to the process o Responsible for the management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected items, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules. o Receives and reviews purchase / sales orders against current requirements and work in process. o Work with Engineering on viable sources. o Oversee the PPAP process. o Reviews requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers. o Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, other purchasing department personnel and production managers on material status and production planning issues. o Directly supervises employees in the departments assigned. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Position Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management, or a similar discipline o Five to ten years' professional experience in leading the procurement function in a manufacturing environment. o Experienced in managing multiple sites preferred. o Previous experience in supporting a variety of parts for multiple product lines. o Requires working knowledge of Oracle o Requires proficiency with MS Office suite of products o Self-starter o Strong analytical and research skills o Able to work independently as well as with manufacturing, o APICS certification and/or Lean Manufacturing training is a plus o Some technical knowledge of AMETEK products is a plus
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Supply Chain & Logistics, ProcurementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
