World Relief seeks a Public Benefits Resettlement Coordinator.
This position has primary responsibility for coordinating public benefits and core service tasks for newly arrived refugees.
The Resettlement Coordinator works in close collaboration with other staff, community organizations, churches, and service providers to facilitate stability and health community integration among clients.
Position is based in Aurora and requires client home visits as well as driving throughout Kane and surrounding counties.

Client Services Assist refugee clients in applying for appropriate public benefits (SNAP, Medicaid, TANF) through the Illinois Department of Human Services, including follow-up and post-approval assistance Provide newly arriving refugee families with core services Ensure that clients are promptly enrolled in ESL, assisted with social security application, receive seasonally appropriate clothing/household items, are connected with community resources, and help with phones & internet set-up Ensure clients have access to food assistance when there is a delay in food stamps, including helping clients access local food pantries Perform home visits and evaluations, as needed Drive clients to appointments Coordinate initial provision of funds and bus tickets for newly arriving refugee clients, when needed Provide clients with initial and on-going orientations to live in the U.
S.
, and help conduct assessments at the end of R&P period when needed.
Empower clients while providing them with tools necessary to meet their goals Provide interpretation and translation in times where no other options are available for staff Other duties as assigned Administrative Responsibilities Maintain timely and accurate client files, case notes, and reporting records Actively participate in department meetings, staff development opportunities, program trainings, community activities, and organizational events Provide supervision and accountability for department interns when assigned Work closely with internal service teams and external service providers to ensure comprehensive service provision Collaborate with volunteers and Volunteer Services staff to support the work of volunteers engaging with clients to meet the goals of the client's service plan Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed, accurate records Ability to work independently in achieving program goals, while collaborating with team and other departments to ensure client success Highly self-motivated with good follow-through and problem-solving skills Willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines Task oriented and excellent time management skills Requirements Mature and personal Christian faith Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document Knowledge of immigrant experience strongly preferred Cross-cultural experience required Fluency in a second language required:
Arabic, Burmese, Russian, Ukrainian, Swahili, French, Spanish, Pashto, or Dari strongly preferred Experience in social services or case management preferred MS Office skills required Valid driver's license, regular access to a vehicle, and ability/willingness to drive 15-passenger van required Regular travel is required and a key part of this role (client's home and aiding in the connection to other service providers) Occasional evenings or weekends required World Relief offers a competitive benefits package (25 hours
